1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do for fun? For a living?

WOW What do I do for Fun/Living???? Well, for the most part I play around with my computers and run BOINC. I am retired from the Army and I do have a part time job (30 hours). I also spend time with my sister in Va.

2. When did you first join SETI@Home and why?

I'm not sure when I 1st joined SETI@HOME but ever since I was growing up and watching TV shows about space like Star Trek I wondered if there could be life out on other places other then our Earth. When I returned from Germany back in 1977 I got a Packard Bell computer and it was a DOS computer. When I heard about this program that allowed you to download files to help look for "ET" I thought it was kool. By then I had upgraded to 98SE and was able to join. I wanted to try and help and I had high hopes that maybe on day my little PC may find ET!

3. Where did you first hear about SETI.USA? When did you join? And what caused you to stay?

I learned about SETI.USA while running SETI under no Team and on my owe trying to get help from the SETI@Home MB and not getting any help. In fact more times then I care to say I was feeling like no one wanted to help someone that only had 1 PC and didn't have any money (in other words I was a "nobody") Then one day Possum sent me a message to join SETI.USA. Since then I have really have enjoyed being apart of this Team. (Even with all my dumb post!) It didn't take long for me to feel I was at home and I hope will be allow for some time to come!

4. How many machines do you have running BOINC?

I currently have 2 Desktops and 4 Laptops running BOINC. Not all at one time however because of downtime for one reason or another. Mostly because only 2 of these PC and under 2 year old. The others like the Old Desktop from TigerDirect.com has been slowly failing.

5. Tell us about your fastest cruncher?

My fastest PC's is the Dell D820 and a HP Laptop. Both are Duel CPUs.

6. If you could build your "dream" cruncher, what would it be like?

My dream cruncher for BOINC would have to be one that will only have just what is needed to run the fastest CPU and be able to run cool. It would only have the bare programs needed to run and no "junk". In other words just an OS, drivers, Virus program and BOINC. It would have at least 250GB HDD just to keep BOINC happy!

7. Any advice for the other members of the team?

I find it hard to think I could tell anyone on this Team on how to do a better job! But I do think we still need to support the Team goal. I love the fact that we are never pushed to run a project. If you have a project that you feel you like the most then by all means do so. If you have enough PC's that you can allow one or more to help out in the Team's Project Of The Month (POTM) program that would help the Team too.

8. On Top or On Bottom
(question forwarded by Cappy)

I don't understand this Question????

9. Which question would you like the next participant to answer?
